English and French courses in Canada

During an English course in Canada, you can experience dramatic landscapes, unspoiled wilderness, elegant cities and laid-back lifestyles. Canada is home to the largest skiable resort in North America, Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, and it also enjoys the longest ski season in North America. If you choose an English course in Vancouver you can experience the excitement and energy already building up as they prepare to host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Canadians are proud of their country and their differences from their big southern neighbor, the USA. Canada has an unusually open immigration policy and the people are welcome visitors with warm hospitality, friendliness and enthusiasm. You can take an English course in Toronto, Ontario, which is Canada's largest urban centre with museums, galleries and theatres that rival the best in the world. Wander through culturally diverse neighborhoods with eclectic shops and restaurants serving delicacies from almost every country. Toronto is also the third-largest live theatre centre in the English-speaking world after London and New York.

Starting this year, EF is also offering English course in Montréal, Quebec. Canada is an officially bilingual country with English being the mother tongue for 59% of the 33 million Canadians while 23% percent are native French-speaking. The other 18% speak neither of the two official languages as their mother tongue. Many of Canada’s native French speakers live in Quebec and its capital, Montréal. Montréal is a bilingual city where you’ll find both English and French spoken everywhere: an unusual and appealing combination indeed! In addition to English courses, EF will also offer French courses in Montréal.
