EF Master English for Hotel & Tourism MEHT

Pairing intensive English studies with a practical hospitality curriculum, EF MEHT brings the opportunities of the international tourism industry to the classroom with challenging Harvard Business School Publishing case studies covering a wide variety of hospitality management topics. Your daily lessons will be devoted to contemporary industry theories and practices – giving you the necessary skills needed to succeed. Students will also benefit from our unique partnerships with leading hospitality management schools such as Johnson & Wales University and Lynn University.
The best language instruction
From the moment you arrive, our experienced instructors work several hours a day to get your language skills up to the level you need to start your hotel and tourism classes. Depending on the results of your initial placement test, you will join classes with students at the same English level. Our excellent native-speaking instructors use the latest methods and EF’s own tailor-made curriculum to ensure that you will advance as rapidly as possible. Once your language level is high enough, you will progress to your specialized hotel and tourism classes.

EF has developed a unique curriculum that allows you to use your new English skills to explore different areas of the hotel and tourism industry. Using customized materials from some of the world’s top hotel and tourism schools, you’ll explore all areas of hotel, restaurant, airline and tour management, learning the best industry practices from experienced, qualified instructors. You will complete your program with a solid foundation to launch your new career!
An internship to enhance your knowledge
An integral part of the program is your internship. EF’s dedicated Internship Coordinator will help you to match your interests and experiences to a local business. This will afford you a once-in-alifetime opportunity to gain an insider look into the corporate world, while putting your newly acquired skills into practice right away. Past placements have included international hotel chains, tour operators and airlines such as STA Travel, the Hilton and Marriott Hotels and Lufthansa.
Explore your options, outside of class
When class is finished for the day, we make sure there is a full schedule of activities available, giving you the chance to relax and to explore your host city. These activities might include field trips to local area hotels, travel companies and more to help you get a feel for potential career paths. You’ll be using your language skills all the time, as our full-time Activities Coordinator is ready with a program to keep you active after class, in the evenings and on the weekends.
Credentials that are recognized around the world
Your MEHT diploma, combined with your internship certificate and your official exam results, will ensure you are ready to advance in your career. Moreover, through our partnership with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), EF MEHT students may be eligible to receive university credit for their coursework. 14 general language lessons to build grammar and communication skills necessary for working in the international hotel & tourism industry, including teacherled discussions, presentations, written exercises, group work and role-plays.
10 lessons devoted to contemporary industry theories and practices, based on authentic materials used by renowned hotel and tourism schools. Prepare for your internship and if you desire prepare to take an internationally recognized language proficiency exam.
6 iLab sessions of interactive online learning, practicing all basic skills.
1 lecture (double lesson) either by a teacher or guest lecturer for listening comprehension practice and cultural development.

1. Who can apply to the MEHT program?
EF’s MEHT is ideal for students who want to improve their English fluency and prepare for a career in the hotel and tourism industry. -
Do students have to be at a particular level of English before starting the program?
Due to the challenging nature of the course topics only students with intermediate English skills may apply. Students who begin at a lower English-level will first sharpen their English skills in intensive language training classes, before joining the Master English program. -
What is the recommended age for participants?
The program is recommended for students who are 18 - 30 years, mainly due to the fact that a certain maturity and experience is required in order to discuss the concepts and ideas. -
Are there any prerequisites for this program?
No. Anyone with a good command of English and with a keen interest in Hotel & Tourism will be able to profit from the program. -
